Shatto Milk Company is a small family owned and operated dairy farm located just north of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Our family has been farming here for more than 100 years and began a dairy farm more than 60 years ago. In June 2003 our family began processing our own milk on the farm. In 2005 Christian and Julien Dutruy took over the family estate together after having studied and worked on various continents. Working 25 hectares in the communes of Founex Coppet and Commugny to the west of the AOC La Côte, the duo also manages one of the main nurseries in Switzerland. The Dutruy brothers give birth to more than 25 wines divided into two ranges. The estate wines are single varietals vinified without aging in wood in order to exude the richness of the fruit and the varietal typicity. The prestigious wines presented under the name “Les Romaines” consist of vintages characterized by very high demands in terms of work in the vines, vinification and aging. It brings together two blends and six Grandes Réserves aged in undergrowth and on lees for at least one year.

Green Thumb Farms has been farming in Western Maine since 1965. Working on 2000 acres of rich Saco River Valley soil has firmly established our reputation for quality potatoes turf dry beans and corn. Our third generation family farm strives to preserve Maine’s open spaces and agricultural heritage. Our agricultural roots lie in the production of the highest quality Maine potatoes. We grow and market several varieties of potatoes for supermarkets food service distributors and processors we recently added organic potatoes to our product list. Our state-of-the-art technology enables us to ensure quality potatoes in every bag. Green Thumb’s turf business grows two varieties Kentucky Bluegrass and Tall Fescue blend. We market directly to landscapers golf courses and the sports turf industry as well as homeowners. Green Thumb Farms has diversified into the dry bean business. Currently we grow New England heirloom bean varieties such as Jacob’s Cattle Yellow Eye Soldier and Red Kidney. Typically these varieties are used in baked beans but they also work well in soups stews and salads. Historically the Fryeburg area has been fertile ground for growing corn. Green Thumb Farms grows corn purposed for livestock but recently the same type of corn has become popular as a clean renewable heating source much like wood pellets. We are also proud of out sister company Maine Distilleries and their award winning Cold River Vodka made from our potatoes!
