The Original Domaine Bottled Wine Iloki podrumi (Ilok Cellars) the country’s first original purpose-built wine cellar is standing proudly on the eastern Danube since 1450. Wine history had been made here over two thousand years ago. The Odescalchi family made a special mark on modern wine. They came to run the estate in 1697. In 1710 they brought the first plants of the traminer variety and planted them on unique Principovac and Vukovo appellation. A few years later two hundred years before the Bordeaux first growths they bottled their celebrated Traminer on the estate to protect their wines’ quality and reputation from outside merchants. Nobody knows of an earlier estate- domaine bottling tradition. That is why wines from Iloki podrumi carry the insignia “The Original Domaine Bottled Wine“. If this is not on the bottle it will not have been bottled there. It will not the real thing.
